Electricity tariffs are reviewed quarterly. The changes to the tariffs will be published on SP Services website and used to compute your electricity charges.

Answer

Due to the high costs of taking meter readings, it is a common practice for utilities companies to read the meters once every two months. In some countries, meters are read at longer intervals of three, six or even up to 12 months.

Customers who wish to be billed based on actual meter reading on months where their meters are not read can submit their meter readings through our self-help channels:
1. SP app
2. SP Utilities Portal
3. Automated phone system at 1800 2222 333 and select option 4 for “Others” after language option

Answer

The national average household usage is calculated based on the consumption of all households of the same premises type. Consumption in different households of the same premises type may vary due to different usage behaviours.

Generally, households that use some form of air-conditioners may see a wider fluctuation in usage during the hotter months compared to households that do not use air-conditioners. This is because if the weather is hotter, the air-conditioners have to work harder to bring down the room temperature to the same desired temperature.

Answer

During the hotter season, typically from Apr to Aug each year, the average temperature tends to be higher compared to the beginning and end of the year. The national average household usage also shows a similar trend each year.

To view the national average household consumption charts for the various premises types, please visit our SP Group website > Our Services > Utilities > Tariff Information.
